Each pal has a sanity meter, visible when you inspect them. For example, a pal with 74 out of 100 sanity is doing okay, but if this number drops too low, they will start slacking off, refuse to work, and become more vocal with complaints. Here’s how you can keep high.
In your base, check the right-hand side of your screen to see the condition of your pals. You’ll see if they are in good condition, hungry, or slacking off. Most of the time, you’ll want to keep them in good condition. Here’s how:
Placing a monitor stand allows you to adjust your pals’ workload. While you can set them to work harder or super hard, be cautious—these settings can rapidly decrease. In our experience, setting it to normal is best until developers optimize these settings further.

You can manually check each pal’s sanity by inspecting them in your base. For instance, while most of your pals might be in the 70s, 80s, or 90s, you might find one like the deer pal at 52 sanity.
Creating a hot spring (or a jacuzzi) is a fantastic way to help pals relax and recover their sanity. Each hot spring accommodates only one pal at a time, so if you have many pals, consider building several. You can manually place a pal in the hot spring if they don’t go on their own. Watch as their sanity increases steadily—just throw them in, and they’ll start to relax.
Feeding your pals well is another excellent way to keep their sanity high. Craft delicious and filling meals using a campfire or cooking pot. High-quality food ensures they stay full longer and remain more productive. On the other hand, basic food like red berries and wheat won’t satisfy them for long, leading to frequent eating breaks.
If you notice a pal, like the Lavender pal, slacking despite having high sanity, a quick trick is to remove them from the base and then reintroduce them. This can be done via the mailbox—take them out and place them back in. They should quickly return to work. Alternatively, placing them in the pal box will slowly restore their sanity to 100.
Sometimes, a pal might feel neglected. In this case, interact with them directly and pet them to show some love. This interaction helps a bit with their sanity and ensures they don’t feel ignored.
For pals with physical ailments like broken bones or ulcers, a medical bench is essential. Stock it with low-grade medical supplies for minor issues like colds or sprains. For ulcers or fractures, ensure you have the appropriate medical supplies ready. To administer treatment, simply open the menu, hit feed, and select the medicine.
